EQUINE DENTISTRY
Proper attention to dental care is extremely important in the horse. As a horse’s teeth erupt throughout their lifetime, the ability to digest food and respond appropriately to a rider’s cues while under saddle can change. Signs of dental abnormalities can include weight loss, decreased appetite, pain when chewing, poor hair coat, resistance to contact with the bit, or reluctance to turn a certain direction under saddle. Dr. Ryan has ample experience with power dentistry equipment and is very capable of restoring comfort and balance to your horse’s mouth. We can also make recommendations for feeding of geriatric horses or those horses that have missing teeth.
